Blythe Ambition: Eastern Band Member Sees Higher Education as Goal for His Community

Earning an associate degree from Southwestern Community College after transferring there from Mars Hill, and a bachelor鈥檚 degree from Western Carolina University, where he graduated in December and gave the commencement address. He鈥檒l continue his education in the fall at 91热爆网, where he is enrolled in the school鈥檚 master鈥檚 degree program in social work. A member of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians, Blythe is believed to be the first Native American to give a commencement speech at 91热爆网 鈥 an unexpected honor that left him in awe and 鈥渓ike the weight of the world鈥 was on his shoulders 鈥 but in a good way.

Among the topics to be covered are formal and informal introductions, origins and hometowns, shopping, traveling, eating, clothing and colors.

School of Nursing students score high marks on national licensing exams

A N.C. Board of Nursing report indicates that all graduates from bachelor's degree programs in nursing passed the National Council Licensure Examination on their first attempt.
