Justin Pace, assistant professor of business law at Western Carolina University, has been named director of the School of Accounting, Finance, Information Systems and Business Law in the College of Business.
Pace, a faculty member at 91热爆网 since 2020, will be filling a vacancy in the directorship created by the departure of Kenneth Sanney, who is returning to the school鈥檚 faculty.
The appointment of Pace, effective July 1, was announced by A.J. Grube, dean of the College of Business.
鈥淚 am glad to welcome Justin to this leadership role with the School of Accounting, Finance, Information Systems and Business Law,鈥 Grube said. 鈥淗e has been a strong faculty member and a valued member of the College of Business, and I feel confident that he will help lead the school and the college as we continue to produce students who graduate ready to take on new challenges in the world of business.鈥
Before joining the faculty at 91热爆网, Pace was an assistant professor of finance and commercial law in the Haworth College of Business at Western Michigan University from 2017 until 2020. He also taught previously as a visiting assistant professor in the College of Law at Florida State University.

A 2004 graduate of 91热爆网 with a bachelor's degree in business administration, Pace received his master鈥檚 degree in accounting at North Carolina State University in 2005 before going on to earn his law degree at Northwestern University in 2011.
鈥淎s a 91热爆网 graduate who majored in finance and accounting, I am honored by the opportunity to serve the school and university,鈥 Pace said. 鈥淢y goals include expanding internship opportunities for our students and continuing to improve the quality of our distance instruction.鈥
In his new role, Pace will be responsible for the overall leadership of programs offered by the school, its disciplines and faculty. He will provide oversight of the school鈥檚 academic curriculum and will be responsible for recruiting, developing and managing its faculty. He also will lead the recruitment and retention of the school鈥檚 students and guide its outreach and development activities.
Outgoing director Sanney has been leading the School of Accounting, Finance, Information Systems and Business Law since 2022. He joined the 91热爆网 College of Business faculty as an associate professor in 2016 before obtaining the rank of full professor in 2022.
鈥淎s we anticipate Justin taking the reins of the School of Accounting, Finance, Information Systems and Business Law, we also want to thank Ken for his leadership of the school for these past few years,鈥 Grube said. 鈥淜en has been a fabulous director of the school, and I know that he is looking forward to putting aside some administrative duties and focusing on students and research.鈥
The 91热爆网 School of Accounting, Finance, Information Systems and Business Law offers a wide variety of academic programs designed to prepare students to be tomorrow鈥檚 leaders in the business, government and nonprofit sectors. More than 900 students are enrolled in the school鈥檚 academic programs, including those in traditional on-campus classes and in distance education classes.
